Kitchen Blowtorch
A cooking blow torch is a tool that creates a very hot flame using butane or propane, a highly flammable gas. Sometimes other gases are also used.
A kitchen blow torch can reach temperatures up to 1700 K (1430º C or 2000º F). That temperature is high enough to melt many common metals like aluminium and copper and it can vaporise many organic compounds.
Kitchen blowtorches are frequently used as kitchen utensils for cooking or caramelising sugar, for example, or making crem̀e brûlée or crema catalana. They can be sold as kitchen blowtorches, cooking blowtorches or mini blow torches. A kitchen blowtorch has many uses in the kitchen beyond caramelising sugar. It can also be used to melt or brown toppings for casseroles, soups or to flambé quickly and safely. You can also grate cheese as you go, roast vegetables in a flash or go over chicken or fish with a mini blowtorch to make them crunchy on the outside. You can even use one to defeather birds and more.
The kind of cooking blowtorch you use at home isn't very different from a professional kitchen blowtorch. It's very easy to use one. Just take off the safety, push the start button and the gas comes out in flames. The flame is usually adjusted for comfort and precision. After you're done using your kitchen blowtorch, put the safety back on so the gas doesn't escape.
When you run out of gas, you just need to refill the torch from the base using a bottle of gas.
Before you use or light the cooking blow torch for the first time it's very important to read the instructions and follow the guidelines. However small a mini blowtorch may be, if you don't use it correctly it can cause accidents in the kitchen.
In our catalogue, we have three models of refillable kitchen blow torches, a professional blow torch head and a gas refill for a head-blow torch.
